» Enhanced Quality Assurance Practices.

The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Shaheed Benazirabad, successfully organized a Cascading Training Session on Academic Leadership and University Management under the umbrella of the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) on Monday, October 13, 2025, at the Syndicate Hall, Administration Block.

The session, themed “Enhanced Quality Assurance Practices,” was expertly conducted by Prof. Dr. Salman Bashir, Dean, Faculty of FMBA, SBBU-SBA. The interactive session provided valuable insights into strengthening quality assurance mechanisms and fostering institutional excellence. The session was attended by staff members from the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) and the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC).

» 4^th Meeting of the Institutional Quality Circle (IQC) (1^st Meeting of Year 2025-26).

Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Shaheed Benazirabad convened its first Institutional Quality Circle (IQC) meeting for academic year 2025-2026 on October 7, 2025. The meeting organized by Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) , was chaired by Engr. prof. Dr Madad Ali Shah, Vice-Chancellor, and facilitated by Dr Munwar Ali, Director QEC.

The meeting discussed key agenda items including the revision of the Institutional Performance Review (IPR) Committee, approval of the QEC Activity Calendar for year 2025–26, and discussion on Teachers’ and Course Evaluation reports.

Addressing the participants, Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr Madad Ali Shah reiterated the university's commitment to academic excellence, emphasizing the continuous improvement in teaching, learning and institutional performance remains at the core of SBBU-SBA mission.

» The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) organized a one-day workshop on the development of the Strategic Plan for SBBU-SBA on September 26, 2025.

A one-day workshop on the Development of Strategic Plan for SBBU-SBA was organized by the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Shaheed Benazirabad (SBBU-SBA). The event commenced with the recitation from the Holy Quran, setting a spiritual tone for the proceedings.

The honorable Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Dr. Madad Ali Shah, delivered the welcome and note of thanks. In his address, he appreciated the efforts of QEC in arranging this important academic activity and emphasized the significance of strategic planning for the sustainable growth and quality assurance of the university.

Following this, Dr. Munwar Ali Zardari, Director QEC SBBU-SBA, introduced the consultants and highlighted the importance of the workshop in strengthening institutional governance, planning, and quality enhancement mechanisms.

The first technical session was conducted by Dr. Saeed Ahmed Khan, Director QEC Sukkur IBA University, who presented on the working of QECs in light of the new & Improved version of Quality The Pakistan Precepts, Standards, and Guidelines (PSG-2023) issued by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). His presentation provided participants with valuable insights into the standards and procedures required for institutional quality assurance. The workshop was then led by Dr. Syed Muhsin Amir Mukhtiar Kazmi, Assistant Professor Sukkur IBA University, who conducted an engaging and interactive session on the methodology of developing a strategic plan. He assigned practical tasks to participants, guided group activities, and ensured active engagement throughout the day. His session proved highly beneficial in enhancing participants’ knowledge and practical understanding of strategic planning processes. In the concluding session, Prof. Dr. Salman Bashir, Dean FMB & FSS, and Prof. Dr. Liaqat Zardari, Dean FST, presented traditional cultural gifts (Ajrak) and shields to the respected consultant and distinguished guests as a token of appreciation. The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates among the participants, acknowledging their active participation and contribution. This one-day workshop served as an important milestone for SBBU-SBA, providing faculty and staff with the necessary tools and understanding to contribute effectively towards the university’s strategic plan, thereby aligning with HEC’s quality assurance framework.

» SBBU-SBA Successfully Concludes RIPE Review Under HEC’s PSG-2023 Framework

Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Shaheed Benazirabad has proudly completed its annual Self Review of Institutional Performance and Enhancement (RIPE) for the academic year 2024–2025, in alignment with HEC’s PSG-2023 framework.

The esteemed review panel, led by Prof. Dr. Salman Bashir (Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences & Faculty of Management & Business Administration), included Dr. Saeed Ahmed Khan (Director QEC, Sukkur IBA University) as the external evaluator, along with internal members Prof. Dr. Liaqat Ali Zardari, Prof. Dr. Reehan Ali Shah, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Afzal.

In the opening session, Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Madad Ali Shah reinforced the university’s dedication to academic excellence, strong governance, and continuous improvement, recognizing RIPE as a vital tool for institutional growth. Engr. Dr. Munawar Ali Zardari, Director QEC, presented a comprehensive overview of the RIPE report, showcasing the university’s performance across 16 PSG-2023 standards and its robust Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) systems, including IPER and IQC.

Over two dynamic days, the panel engaged with university leadership, Deans, HoDs, Directors, and faculty, assessing key areas such as governance, academics, research, student services, and infrastructure. The team commended SBBU-SBA’s strategic vision, research initiatives, and student-centric approach, while providing valuable recommendations to further elevate faculty development, infrastructure, and graduate research programs.
